Local cuisine x Aboriginal culture
< Brand Story >
Master Zeng’s Mochi(rice cake) was founded by the local Hualien Zeng couples. They work full-heartedly for their business. The founder, Mr. Tai-Chang Zeng, who was a motorbike fixer, changed his path in his middle age. Mr. Zeng started from a simple and poor food stand and now he owns 5 Mochi stores. Because of his creative Mochi and friendly greetings, he has built a good name and “Master Zeng” became the one and only Mochi brand in Hualien.
Mr. Zeng said: “We want the moment people who come into the store, they feel like we are friends. It is very simple. How we treat friends and that is how we treat our customers too.” Master Zeng shares the happiness from tasting Mochi with the travelers.
Buying and eating Mochi in Hualien have become the touching moment that Taiwanese aboriginals celebrate their reunion and harvest. What is eaten is not only the chewing texture and the sweet filling, it is also the incredible story of a motorbike fixer who has made a new history of Hualien Mochi.
